Donna Bembenek, president of Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, has announced her planned retirement after nine years of leadership.
Since becoming president in July 2017, Bembenek has guided the school through significant growth and innovation while strengthening its Catholic mission. During her tenure, CMH expanded STEM programming, introduced a senior-year internship program and added curriculum opportunities. She also oversaw major campus improvements, including renovations to the Helen R. Krahn Family Center for the Arts, construction of the Bill Young Performance Center and the development of the Catholic Memorial Sullivan Campus.
The school also secured a full-time priest to serve the Catholic Memorial community. Under Bembenek’s leadership, CMH earned Exemplary Recognition for Academic Excellence and was named a School of Distinction in STEM for nine consecutive years.
“I have been honored to work hard every day to ensure other families realize the gift of a CMH education,” Bembenek said.
Bembenek will remain in her position until her successor is named. The Board of Directors has begun a national search, with a new president expected to be in place by the first quarter of 2027.
