WAUWATOSA – The Society of the Divine Savior announced that no criminal charges will be filed against the shared pastor of St. Pius X Parish, Wauwatosa, and Mother of Good Counsel Parish, Milwaukee.

The order removed Salvatorian Fr. Robert Marsicek from public ministry during Holy Week after a teacher at Wauwatosa Catholic School, sponsored by St. Bernard and St Pius X parishes, reported behavior that she thought was questionable to the principal, parish safe environment coordinator and Wauwatosa Police Department.

Salvatorian Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, U.S. Provincial Superior and National Vocations Director of the Society of the Divine Savior, said in an email to your Catholic Herald on Monday that the investigation has been completed and that Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Paul Tiffin said no criminal charges will be filed.

Tiffin didn’t return a voicemail message for comment by presstime Tuesday.

“With this decision, Fr. Bob’s future ministry will be determined based on our Savlatorian protocol,” Fr. Rodrigues wrote. “During this process, Fr. Bob will remain fully restricted from all public ministries and under our supervision.”

The Salvatorians are conducting their own investigation, according to a spokeswoman from the order.

Fr. Rodrigues also asked for continued prayers.

“Please continue to pray for our parish and school communities, especially for all those involved in this unfortunate situation,”  he wrote.

Fr. Marsicekis currently under supervision and living in a Salvatorian community outside the parish.

Several Salvatorian priests will continue helping with the different Masses at the parishes in Fr. Marsicek’s absence.
