Dear Reader,
Since Nov. 14, the day Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki’s appointment as the 11th archbishop of Milwaukee was announced, an often-asked question of anyone who has met him has been, “What’s the new guy like?”
Through interviews conducted by our staff during the last six weeks, we tried to answer that question for you. Those answers appear in the stories you will find throughout this section. We had the pleasure of talking to the archbishop, his family, classmates, friends and employees, as well as people in the Milwaukee Archdiocese who provided a variety of information and perspectives.
In introducing you to Archbishop Listecki, we offer you a composite of the archbishop that includes, among others, terms like renaissance, down-to-earth, easy-going, humorous, hard-working, humble, friendly, spiritual.
We invite you to use this section to learn about Archbishop Listecki. When he visits your parish or region of the archdiocese, we encourage you to meet and welcome the “new guy” as he becomes part of the Catholic story in southeastern Wisconsin.
