MarkForBlogToday I just want to make a mention of a significant part of our collection, our books about and written by saints. As one would suspect, this library has basically complete collections by such well known figures as Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Teresa of Avila, as well as many works by my favorite the Venerable Bede (He actually is the first recorded scholar to use the BC and AD scheme for years.).

But there are many saints who do not get as much acclaim. We have works featuring Maximilian Kolbe, the saint of Auschwitz. As more books are written about Padre Pio, our collection grows, a movie or two have also been made about him. As well as these saints, we continue to get books, including some recently that give the stories and histories of newer saints, including books on Asian, African and Spanish saints.
There are plenty of influential people in the church who aren’t saints, and we have many works on them as well. Movies, CDs and books about Fulton Sheen and what he did with his radio show, as well as his books and teachings. Dorothy Day, and all she did for the church. Books and writings about the popes, including a great majority of their encyclicals. All in all, if you have an interest in a saint or influential person of the church, whether it be something they wrote or a want to learn more about them, we are definitely the place to help quench your knowledge thirst.

As always, if you have any ideas and comments for things I could change, please let me know. These are always appreciated, anything I can do to make this better I will strive my best to accomplish.
