One of my more recent blog posts were about the staff changes that have happened here at the library. Today I want to talk about some of the, albeit, minor, physical changes that have occurred in the collection as well.
The new books have stayed the same, hopefully one of the first things you see as you walk in from the hallway, where we still have our books available for sale. Now across from the new books, where the Wisconsin Collection was, are the DVD and CD Collections, allowing for more growth in these popular collections.
The Wisconsin Collection did not move far though. The Reference Collection was downsized, with many of the materials returning to the main collection. Both the Wisconsin Collection and Saint Francis Seminary Collection were moved into this area (around the corner in the back study room).
Finally, there were two more improvements made in the South Room. There is another display shelf to allow for more growth in the Faith Formation (childrens) Collection, separating the short chapter books and DVDs from the picture books. Then, we have brought down our novels from upstairs and put these into a Fiction section, allowing for easy access to these books.
When you come in, whether you have been here before or not, both Marijo and myself will be happy to show you around to these new areas, or for whatever materials you may need in the main stacks (nothing has changed there).
As always, if you have any ideas and comments for things I could change, please let me know. If you have any books that you have read or have read the books I mention, please leave a comment. We here at Salzmann also want to know what people are reading. Comments are always appreciated – anything I can do to make this better I will strive my best to accomplish.
