Another “Saint” Francis: Today is the 69th birthday of a member of the rock ‘n’ roll Catholic choir — Francis Thomas Avallone. If you’re a connoisseur of genuine rock ‘n’ roll (1954-1963), you’ll know him as Frankie Avalon. Other members of the choir include, but are not limited to, Connie Francis and Shelley Fabares.
Holy day: This Sunday is Catechetical Sunday for which “Catechesis and Proclamation of the Word” is the theme. Thank you to everyone who, in his or her own way, is doing catechesis — at home, in a parish or in the workplace. Not sure if it was Pope St. Zosimus or not who said it, but the words are worth repeating: “Our best catechesis is how we live our faith.” Enjoy your day.
