Fr. Herda shares a few words before the 4th World Series game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays.

“Hope does not disappoint” Romans 5:5. Hope is an essential part of life; hope is what gets us out of bed in the morning. When we face the struggles of life, there is always the hope for a better day tomorrow. For the past forty-four years, the people of the city of Milwaukee and the State of Wisconsin have been hoping that the Milwaukee Brewers would return to the World Series! This year it finally happened and our hopes and dreams have come true.

I have been blessed to serve as the Catholic Chaplain for the Milwaukee Brewers for the past 19 years and my “bucket list” dream was to be able to attend a Brewers World Series game. My long-awaited hope was fulfilled and hope did not disappoint. As I attended the first two games of the World Series, I had to remind myself that this was really happening. As the Brewers won, the feeling of joy and pride for this team was incredible.

This team has brought us together as a community. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the ride. We are one happy family, celebrating together in our shared love of the Milwaukee Brewers.
