Bishop Donald J. Hying installed Fr. Michael D. Strachota as the 28th pastor of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Mapleton, where he has served as administrator for the past two years, during an installation Mass on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Fr. Strachota’s mother, Margaret Strachota, 86, from Wausau was in attendance along with area pastors.
Fr. Strachota will continue serving as pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish, Nashotah, where he has served for the last eight years.
St. Catherine and St. Joan of Arc Parishes have begun collaborating with Christian Formation programs, Mass schedules, joint staff efforts and various committees.
Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki informed parishioners of Fr. Strachota’s appointment as pastor, which was effective June 19, in a letter June 5, 2012.
