Dominican High School President Leanne Giese will retire at the conclusion of the 2026-27 academic year, ending nearly 19 years at the Whitefish Bay Catholic

Giese joined Dominican in 2008 as director of advancement and became president in 2012. During her tenure, she led two major capital campaigns that expanded and modernized the school’s academic and athletic facilities. Dominican’s endowment also grew nearly 400%, increasing resources available for financial assistance.
Giese also guided Dominican through its transition in sponsorship from the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa to Dominican Veritas Ministries. During her presidency, the school received Exemplary Recognition for Mission and Catholic Identity from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and renovated St. Dominic Chapel.
“Serving Dominican High School has been one of the greatest blessings of my life,” Giese said. “I am incredibly proud of all we have accomplished together, but what I will cherish most are the relationships I have formed with our students, families, faculty, staff and alumni.”
Dominican’s board of directors has formed a search committee and expects to name the school’s next president by spring 2027. The new president is expected to begin July 1, 2027. Giese will remain available as a consultant during the 2027-28 academic year.
