Msgr-Donovan0001Msgr. John Thomas Donovan entered into the fullness of eternal life on June 2, 2010. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 20, 1944 by Bishop Moses E. Kiley at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee. He was given the title monsignor on July 16, 1965, when he was appointed Domestic Prelate to His Holiness Pope Paul VI. From 1974 until his retirement in 1993, Msgr. Donovan served as pastor of St. Monica Parish in Whitefish Bay. He is survived by his loving sister, Mary Therese McNeany, a caring cousin, Betsy Krizek Harwood and her family, four dear nieces and four dear nephews, other caring cousins, other devoted relatives and wonderful friends. Visitation was held on Monday, June 7, at St. Monica Catholic Church, Whitefish Bay. A second visitation was held on Tuesday, June 8, at St. Monica Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial. Interment took place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials in Msgr. Donovan’s name may be made to St. Monica Parish, 160 E. Silver Spring Drive, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217.
