If you could dine with anyone, living or dead, who would it be? I think Jesus and all the saints are first on my list so that I might worship God and thank him for all he has done for me, and so that I might learn from the saints. But, if it had to be someone outside that list, it would probably be Thomas Jefferson or George Washington – I would like to know how men who accomplished such great works, the foundation of this nation and the writing of the Constitution, could have been so morally debased in their behavior to own

slaves.

Who has made the biggest impact upon you? My mother and father have made the biggest impact upon me because they have given me my faith in God; they are my best friends and they are my heroes.

What does your normal weekend look like? I was in the Navy for the past four years and the last two months I have been on vacation before seminary, so I will be reshaping my weekends, but they always include Mass and time with my family.

Favorite quote: “Perfect friendship is the friendship of men who are good, and alike in virtue; for these wish well alike to each other qua good, and they are good in themselves.  Now those who wish well to their friends for their sake are most truly friends; for they do this by reason of their own nature and not incidentally; therefore their friendship lasts as long as they are good – and goodness is an enduring thing.”  -Aristotle (Nicomachean Ethics 1156b7-12)
What was your confirmation name? Thomas, because five of my heroes have that name: my father, Thomas the Apostle, Thomas Aquinas, Thomas More, and Thomas Becket.

What do you enjoy most about going to Mass? I don’t always enjoy going to Mass, but I go to worship our Lord and I always am grateful for that opportunity.

Favorite pastime/hobby/activity: Singing

What is your favorite meal; dessert:  I enjoy trying new foods and I like all desserts, but some of my favorites are chipotle, goat cheese chicken, my mom’s seven-layer bars, and lemon meringue pie.

What is the most important thing you want to accomplish in life? Sanctity. I want to be a saint in whatever way our Lord wants.

How do you live your faith every day? I attend daily Mass and spend time in prayer. I try to make Christ the motive of everything I do. This is my goal, but I often fail.
