MILWAUKEE — Time Warner Cable will dedicate a special channel for its cable TV customers featuring 24/7 coverage of Pope Francis’ visit to Cuba and the United States, Sept. 20-27, and pre-visit elements available on Local on Demand.
TWC’s Papal Visit Channel 199 will begin its coverage Sunday, Sept. 20, with an 8 a.m. live telecast of Pope Francis’ Sunday Mass in Cuba, and will provide seven days of wall-to-wall coverage of his visit, including all of his public appearances, Masses and speeches until his departure, Sunday, Sept. 27.
It will also feature “The Call,” a live news call-in show telecast from New York City, where viewers discuss key issues of the day, and “Papal Visit 2015,” an in-depth nightly review program recapping the day’s events.
Highlights will include his time in Cuba, Sept. 20-22; official welcome ceremony and meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House, Sept. 23; time in New York, Sept. 24-25; visit to Philadelphia for Mass and the Festival of Families, Sept. 26; and papal meeting with bishops from the World Meeting of Families, Sept. 27.
Pre-visit elements, including documentaries, are also available on TWC Local On Demand Channel 411, Channel 1020 for cable customers (click on “Pope Francis”), and will feature Salt & Light TV’s “The Francis Effect” documentary, as well as documentaries created from TWC coverage.
