MILWAUKEE — Learn “What Catholics Should Know about the First Encyclical Dedicated to the Human-Earth Relationship,” during a talk Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Gesu Parish Center’s Fr. Herian Hall, 1210 W. Michigan St.

Jame Schaefer, associate professor in the theology department at Marquette University, will share her insights into Pope Francis’ “Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home,” the first papal encyclical dedicated to the relationship between Earth and humanity. Learn the nature and significance of an “encyclical” and major points Pope Francis makes in each section, as well as ethical implications.

The event is free, but reservations are required. Free parking is available in the Marquette University/Gesu Lot J, accessible from 11th Street, between Wisconsin Avenue and Clybourn Street.
