The Salzmann Library is once again sponsoring two talks this academic year, one this fall and one in spring. Last year’s talks were a great success, with both Fr. Michalski and Bishop Sklba speaking about Vatican II in honor of the 50th anniversary of its opening. This year is another milestone, the 20th anniversary of the updated “Catechism of the Catholic Church.” On Tuesday, Oct. 29th, please join us to listen to Jean Marie Weber discuss “What Catholics Believe: Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church’.”

Jean Marie Weber works at Cardinal Stritch University in the Saint Clare Center for Catholic Life. More importantly (for this talk), she served as a member of the USCCB Implementation Committee for the “Catechism of the Catholic Church” as well as currently chairing the Commission on Continuing Formation for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. She has been in demand across the United States on topics such as this, and we are excited and blessed that she is coming to talk for us.

As mentioned above, the talk will be Tuesday, Oct. 29th, starting at 7 p.m. at Saint Francis de Sales Seminary. It will take place in Henni Hall, in the Inner Commons. A small reception will follow, along with some Q&A for Jean Marie. For more information, check out the flyer.

If you are interested in coming, please let us know so we can have an accurate account for seating and refreshments. You can contact me by email at mschrauth@sfs.edu or by phone at (414) 747-6476. We hope you will join us for what will be an exciting night.

As always, if you have any ideas and comments for things I could change, please let me know. If you have any books that you have read or have read the books I mention, please leave a comment. We here at Salzmann also want to know what people are reading. Comments are always appreciated – anything I can do to make this better I will strive my best to accomplish.
