The collection at Salzmann Library is magnificent. We try to stay modest but truthful. It is one of the best religious collections, especially Catholic, in the state. However, getting a library card and being a patron at our library also gives you access to other libraries in the area.

We are a member of SWITCH, a consortium of eight libraries in the Greater Milwaukee area. This includes Alverno College, Mount Mary University, Cardinal Stritch University, Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology, Concordia University, Wisconsin Lutheran College, and Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Our combined catalog is found at Searching for a book there shows you the availability of the book from any of the other libraries. Listed under “Help Topics” are many that would be useful, including “How to Request Books,” “Creating an Account,” and so on.

When you stop in to sign up for your Salzmann Library card, we will be happy to explain how you can request books from different libraries, and how you can make the most of this wonderful resource. Once you have a card, in addition to their collections, you can drop off and pick up books at any of these libraries, if they are closer to you than the Saint Francis de Sales Seminary.

As always, if you have any ideas and comments for things I could change, please let me know. If you have any books that you have read or have read the books I mention, please leave a comment. We here at Salzmann also want to know what people are reading. Comments are always appreciated – anything I can do to make this better I will strive my best to accomplish.
