TracyTracy Rusch, co-editor of myfaithAfter a Theology on Tap session I attended, I came home with a gold St. Jude medal because my name was picked from the attendees for a prize.

It was fitting that I chose a medal representing the saint of “hopeless cases” at a young adult event – it seems some older adults think our generation is a hopeless case! But ironically, young, married and single adults in their 20s to 30s were getting together at a bar, not for the stereotypical night out, but to listen to a speaker on a topic having to do with their life and faith.

And I’m heading back for this year’s young adult summer speaker series.

We’re excited to announce that this summer your Catholic Herald myfaith staff will be partnering with four groups hosting Theology on Tap sessions.

Each Monday through Thursday night, beginning Monday, July 9 and ending Thursday, Aug. 2, various speakers will present at different locations throughout the Milwaukee Archdiocese, all part of Theology on Tap, sponsored by the archdiocesan John Paul II Center and participating parishes and Catholic organizations.

Ricardo Torres and I will be making our way around the archdiocese as we visit one session at a different site each week.

While speakers and topics have yet to be confirmed (Read the Catholic Herald for more information), we can share the groups with which we’re partnering, and the dates and locations where you’ll find us:

Monday, July 9, St. Francis Brewery, 3825 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., St. Francis, in partnership with parishes: Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Charles Borromeo, Milwaukee, and St. Mary, Hales Corners.

Tuesday, July 17, Flannery’s at Fire Ridge, 2241 County Road W, Grafton, in partnership with Lumen Christi, Mequon; St. Mary and St. Peter, Port Washington; Immaculate Conception, Saukville; St. Joseph, Grafton; Our Lady of the Lakes, Random Lake; St. Francis Borgia, Cedarburg; St. Mary, Belgium; and Holy Rosary, Fredonia.

Theology on Tap sessions, food and drinks are free – we’ll be handing out some freebies, too – so don’t miss this chance to meet other young adults, get questions answered and learn something about your faith … and myfaith, too.

We hope to see you there!
