Cardinal James Michael Harvey, a Milwaukee native, was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 1975.
From Milwaukee’s north side to the Vatican, Cardinal Harvey’s remarkable journey has left a lasting impact on the universal Church. His decades of service included direct responsibilities with St. John Paul II as pope as well as Pope Benedict XVI. At the same time, Cardinal Harvey has never forgotten his roots and especially has maintained strong ties with his alma mater, St. Francis de Sales Seminary in St. Francis.
