Editor’s note: The last two issues of your Catholic Herald have listed the jubilarians who are marking 10, 25, 40, 50 and 65 years of priesthood. The information for Fr. Thomas A. LeMieux arrrived after last week’s publication went to press.

Born in Milwaukee to Louis and Josephine LeMieux, Fr. Thomas A. LeMieux’s home parish is St. Mary, Elm Grove. He attended the minor and major seminary of Saint Francis. He was ordained May 30, 1959 at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral, Milwaukee.

Fr. LeMieux began his priestly ministry as associate pastor at Christ King, Wauwatosa, 1959-1962, followed by assignments at St. Dominic, Sheboygan, 1962-1964; Corpus Christi, Milwaukee, 1964-1969; as a team member at St. Michael, Milwaukee, 1969-1975, and St. Leo, Milwaukee, 1975-1980. He became pastor at SS. Peter and Paul, Milwaukee, 1980-1986; Holy Trinity, Racine, 1986-1989; St. Catherine, Granville/Milwaukee, 1989-1992; and St. Thomas Aquinas, Kenosha, 1992-2000, where he retired to general sacramental ministry at the closing and merging of St. Thomas Aquinas with St. Mary, both in Kenosha.

In 2003, Fr. LeMieux was called back into service by Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan as temporary administrator of a tri-parish arrangement: SS. Cyril and Methodius, St. Mary Magdalen and St. Adalbert on Milwaukee’s south side, and later guided these parishes into separate collaborations.

Fr. LeMieux celebrated his jubilee Mass May 5 at St. Benedict Church, Fontana.
