So, first off, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and a Blessed Easter to everybody!
Yes, I am actually still around. I know there has been a rather long hiatus since I have updated the blog, but I’m back, and ready to continue moving forward. I am excited to let you know about our upcoming event.
On Tuesday, April 19, we will host the Salzmann Library Spring Lecture. The title of the presentation is “The Recognition of Saints” and our presenter will be Msgr. Thomas Olszyk. Here is some information about the lecture.
“Recently, Pope Francis announced the canonization of Mother Teresa. People may wonder about this process of the church to officially recognize the exemplary holiness of certain persons.
Msgr. Thomas Olszyk, a priest of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, who worked on loan at the Archdiocese of the Military in Washington D.C. until 2014, was one of three priests involved in the diocesan phase of the sainthood process of the Servant of God Vincent Capodanno, a Maryknoll priest who became a Navy chaplain and was killed while ministering to Marines during a major battle in Vietnam.
He continues to work on the cause even through retired and living back in Milwaukee. He will share his work and insights into the Process of Canonization with a review of the cause of Fr. Capodanno.”
As I mentioned above, the lecture will be Tuesday, April 19, in the Inner Commons of Henni Hall, on the grounds of the Saint Francis de Sales Seminary. The presentation will start at 7 p.m., with refreshments to follow.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to email@example.com, or call (414) 747-6479. Everyone is invited. I hope you are able to attend what I’m sure will be a very interesting and informative presentation.
My book reviews for this blog have been on an even longer break. I plan to bring those back with my next blog.
As always, if you have any ideas or comments for things I could change, please let me know. If you have any books that you have read or have read the books I mention, please leave a comment.
We also want to know what people are reading. Remarks are always appreciated – anything I can do to make this better I will strive my best to accomplish.
